I first met Emma at a Mother's Meeting Business Club. Little Hot Dog Watson hadn't yet been launched but she was well on her way to creating a beautifully branded product that no one else was offering. Which, let's face it, is all you need. Fast forward a few months and Emma (and her company) are killing it. The Little Hot Dog Watson sunhat has become this seasons MUST HAVE accessory for all Smalls in the sunshine. With innovative technology (including mosquito repellent...Not. Even. Joking) Little Hot Dog Watson is making staying 'sun safe' easy and oh, so cool. We're delighted to be featuring Emma on the blog today and finding out who is Little Hot Dog Watson.

WHAT IS // LITTLE HOT DOG WATSON?:

I’m Emma, mum to H and owner of Little Hotdog Watson. Together we are a childrenswear accessory brand that specialises in bringing fashion and technology together.

HOW DID // LITTLE HOT DOG WATSON COME TO BE?

I started the business because I couldn’t find a great sunhat for my daughter. I wanted something fashionable, that fitted well and protected her. From a small idea I started talking to other parents and it grew. I was on maternity leave and had been considering what to do next and setting up the business just felt right. I’d worked as a Buyer for several years in mens and womenswear so this offered the best of both worlds combining my skills and working inspired by and around my family. A bit under a year later in May this year we launched, so it’s been quite a whirlwind of excitement.

BEST THING // ABOUT BEING LITTLE HOT DOG WATSON?

Hands down it’s the flexibility I have to spend time with my daughter. As a new business you work incredibly hard and put in long hours but now I have the flexibility on how I spend that time.

 

 WHO WHAT // INSPIRES YOU?

I love fashion and seeing new designers coming through. On a personal level I have lots of people that inspire me; my Mum an absolute rock and inspiring primary school teacher, my friend Paula Vaccaro Alvarez, for leading the way in Women’s Films and championing women and  Michelle Obama, who is supporting education and girls rights. All making their mark with their positive actions.

 YOUR FASHION STYLE: A young Pat Butcher with too many shoes. YOUR PARENTING STYLE: Fairly laid back with a couple of mini routines in place. We learnt early on not to google anything as it drove me crazy with worry. Lots of encouragement and love.
